When I was a little girl my grandmother would crochet us all blankets and socks with trimming on them. I was about 9 years old when my stepmom got pregnant for the third time. I decided I wanted to learn how to crochet so I could make the baby a blanket.
Unfortunately, my stepmom had a miscarriage and I didn’t finish the blanket. However, when I got pregnant in 2016 with my first baby I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to pick it back up again!
So I started watching videos on YouTube on how to crochet and got to making baby items. Then I decided I wanted to learn how to knit as well. So I watched some more YouTube videos and picked that up as well!
Now I can’t stop! lol, I’m addicted to my yarn and needles. I have even set up an Etsy Shop called Wild Knit Mama. I love sitting in some comfy clothes, binge-watching things on Netflix, and spending time with my little girl. Being a stay at home mom means everything to me. I want to be there for her through life, and not miss a beat. However, I also I need to help bring money into our household. If my knitting and crocheting can do that for my family, then that’s an added bonus!
How did you come into knitting/crocheting? What has it done for you or why does it mean something to you? I’d love to hear your stories!
